On the 13th of June, the Queensland state government gave out their budget for the 2017-2018 financial year and what has come as a pleasant surprise is the decision to extend the $20,000 first home owners grant out by six months. Many believed the budget would be dropped to 15,000 as of July 1st but thanks to a $30 million injection to the state budget the grant has been extended till the 31st of December 2017.

To be eligible for this:

• You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• You or your partner must not have previously owned a property within Australia
• You must be over the age of 18
